GIARDINO HOTEL GROUP…
THE TRANSFORMATION
The goal was to bridge the span from the original Engadin architecture to today’s modern Alpine living culture. Under the direction of Daniela and Philippe Frutiger, the architect team of Francesca Alder from bofor design in Thun, Gaby Bachhuber Geissinger from the office of the same name in Munich and Roland Hinzer from Hinzer Architektur in Champfèr, met this challenge and accomplished a breath-taking transformation of the 100-year-old Chesa Guardalej to the Giardino Mountain.
ENGADIN-LIKE
Careful and with a love for detail. For the public areas we created some new faces but with the original Engadin character. Thus the beautiful antique wood ceilings throughout the hotel or the famous sgraffitos of the local artist Steivan L.Könz (1940 – 1998). The natural stones from the region with so much character really evoke the Alpine chic as a final topping. The architectural dream team integrated various elements for the new design of the interior to emphasize the overall composition, including sophisticated parquet flooring by “Mafi”, elegant materials by “Designers Guild”, high-quality decor elements by “DK Home” and “Rivière Maison”, exclusive lights by “van Egmond”, “VG newtrend” and “Moodi” as well as refined designer wallpapers by “Ulf Moritz” and “All and Deco Italia”. Feel its effect and feel at home in Engadin.
